Carers Conference comes to King's Lynn

Help and advice for carers of all ages is being brought together under one roof in King's Lynn.

The Borough Council's hosting the Carers Conference West Norfolk at Alive Lynnsport next Wednesday (18 March) between 10am-2pm.

Organisations available to talk to include the Alzheimer's Society, West Norfolk Carers, Carers Matter Norfolk, West Norfolk Transport, British Red Cross, Caring Together and services available from the borough council such as Careline Community Service, Lily, Care & Repair and the Benefits Advice and Review team.

Guest speakers during the day will talk about support services available, caring in Norfolk, how to combat loneliness and isolation, young carer advice, an introduction to the Carer Friendly Tick Award and the journey through dementia.

Cllr Elizabeth Nockolds, deputy leader and cabinet member for culture, heritage and health said:

"The last census showed that there were 6.5 million carers in the UK. That's one in eight people and the figure is rising. I urge people to attend this free event to discover the support available to them.
"Over 40 organisations will be on hand to chat to and we have secured some very informative speakers."

Carers Conference West Norfolk is being held inside the Table Tennis Centre and Pelicans Bar at Alive Lynnsport. The North Car Park at the rear of the venue is the closest place to park and is free.  There will be free refreshments will be available.
