Number of COVID-19 deaths at QE reaches 30

Thirty people have now died at the QE after testing positive for coronavirus. 

A further six people have died at the King's Lynn hospital today, all were over 70. 

Nationally, 7,248 people have died in the UK after contracting coronvirus since the outbreak began. 

Caroline Shaw, Chief Executive for QEH, said: 

"A further six patients, two men in their 70s , a woman in her 80s and a woman and two men in their 90s, who had tested as positive for COVID-19 have died while being cared for at our hospital. Our thoughts are with their families and loved ones."

Bosses told us yesterday that 29 people, who had also tested positive, have now been discharged and are recovering at home.
