Another event in Wisbech has fallen victim to coronavirus.

The Town Council has confirmed because of the pandemic, they have cancelled this year's Rock Festival, which was due to be held on Sunday 2 August across the Town Park.

The Community Events and Festivals Committee concluded that, with shops not re-opening until July at the earliest, it is inevitable that stringent social distancing is very likely to remain throughout the rest of this year, which will not be possible to manage at a big festival.

The Chairman of the Community Events and Festivals Committee, said:

"We have been working hard since last year's festival to prepare a bigger and better event. However, although we had really hoped for some further easing of movement restrictions over the summer, it has become apparent that it is not going to happen. It is now clear that we must cancel this event and take our hard work and enthusiasm into next year's Rock Festival, which will take place on Sunday 1 August 2021."

For artists, suppliers and collaborators who have contacted Wisbech Town Council we will be in contact as soon as possible to confirm rescheduling to next year.
