A King's Lynn charity has been awarded the 'MBE for voluntary groups'.

Bridge for Heroes has been given the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service - one of just 230 across the entire country.

The award was set up in 2002 to recognise outstanding work done within communities across the country.

One of the directors, Councillor Graham Middleton, says he's proud of the work the charity does with veterans and serving military personnel.

Councillor Middleton said:

"It's absolutely fantastic. We're all over the moon to get this sort of recognition from the very top. We look forward to a very strong future with the charity, having received this award.

"My grandfather was in the military, so I've always had a close connection. Listening to the stories and what the guys have gone through and the support given to them, I pledged my support."
