Baskets of fruit have been donated to young people across West Norfolk thanks to Youth-West.

Deliveries have been made across the area thanks to the Youth-West Partnership normally based at the Discovery Centre in North Lynn, which is run by Freebridge Community Housing.

The fruit baskets have been given to young people the partnership already works with across West Norfolk. They were delivered over two days last week.

The partnership has continued to support young people across the borough during the lockdown by providing a range of virtual activities. These on-line sessions are run by YMCA Norfolk, The Swan Project and The Benjamin Foundation. YMCA Norfolk have created a Youth Suite which allows young people to just click on and join in.

Youth-West has also funded, sourced and delivered musical equipment to the young people in the Discovery Centre band, allowing them to continue with music tuition given by one the charity's partners, the Garage. They've also posted a range of videos on our platforms. The Swan Project, in conjunction with RAF Marham, produced catering videos centred on careers guidance and Norfolk and Waveney Mind and YMCA Norfolk Mind Matters have also produced videos to address issues around mental health wellbeing.

The Discovery Centre on Columbia Way and Freebridge's other community centre at Providence Street near Hillington Square are both currently closed following government advice. But YMCA Norfolk and the other charities and organisations using the centres hope to return as soon as it's safe to re-open the centres.
