Led Zeppelin land on US telly

It was the day that the Zeppelin landed on American telly.

For the first time ever Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and John Bonham all touched down stateside.

The band usually avoided making an appearance on TV.

The iconic rockers had concerns around sound problems.

But on this day in 1976 they overcame those fears to play Don Kirshner's Rock Concert.

The four-piece were known for their incredible live performances.
